½ lb cleaned squid
2 tbsp. Simply Greek® Fish & Seafood Seasoning
1 ½ cups flour
1 glass ice-chilled water
pinch of Salt
Canola Oil (for deep frying)
Preheat the deep fryer or large pot of oil to 375°F.
Slice the Squid into ¼ inch thick rings.
Combined the flour with the Simply Greek® Fish & Seafood Seasoning.
Coat the squid in the flour seasoning mixture. Quickly Dip the coated squid into the ice-chilled water for less than a half-second and then place in the deep fryer basket. Repeat until the basket is filled with coated squid but do not overload the basket. Too many pieces will drastically drop the temperature of the oil and may diminish the crispiness of the calamari.
Lower the basket into the oil and cook for approximately 2.5 minutes or until golden brown.
Squeeze the lemon onto the plated calamari and season with salt
